I have no ideas why avatar dont change.
Changing avatar takes some time to show effects and there is also a note about in the update avatar page...
After you upload your avatar, you may need to reload some pages to see it.I can see that now your avatar has been changed
Sometimes avatar do not change because of catche. You have to clear your catche in order to see the new avatar. I think that will be the issue to you as in the past I also faced the same issue and after clearing the catche I saw the change.
