Yes it is used for criminal activities but that is not a bad thing at all because its logical that it happens these days.
Bitcoin is used for this a lot but we cannot do anything about it too so why not.
Authorities should make their job to capture the criminals but not to stop bitcoin, any currency can be use for illegal activities and even fiat. In overall this would help the market of bitcoin to grow and anyone will be beneficial in using bitcoin.
