I've seen some ico which paid bounties in btc only, SDI there was no need for conversion. (Can't remember names.)

If you want to make a purchase of more than 20 btc , then you can contact Iconomi, and you can buy ICNs. There is no option for buying smaller amounts on iconomi.
But, if you could gather a group collectively wanting more than 20 btc, Jani could process your buying request too.
