you are not yet scamming, but what if you run away and leave your participants without payment and just being use to promote your signature? People nowadays is careful and need the assurance that they will get payment for their work. Many projects that didn't use escrow for funds has gone and take investment. So what's wrong on using escrow if you are really legit and nothing to hide? Even huge projects use escrow even if they already reveal the identity of all the devs. That move can make your project more transparent to investor. Goodluck.
