People not knowing Bitcoin is no reason for Bitcoin to disappear. Look at how low the number of people is that are using Bitcoin in one way or another. And still, Bitcoin is constantly growing. Don't forget that 2 miners and 2 nodes are more than enough to keep Bitcoin alive.
