Me i stop many times but i can't stop myself when i saw some people are betting then winning any amount .that keeps me coming back but i do control my funds and not continue playing when i lose on first enter .if i won i go to second bet if not stop for the mean while.
This is common in human nature, and We can not sit idle if anyone is making money easily. But you said after you come back you have control over your funds this is actually a good move. If you have control over your money management, then you will not lose more money. I have not faced this problem because I am not an addicted gambler and I have control on my emotions.
