Ok, but how can you do that programatically? The method "gettransaction" doesn't contain that information (which is coherent with the fact that the sending address doesn't appear in the GUI client). Screen-scraping blockexplorer.com should be considered a last resort

If you really want to know, you can look up the transaction on blockexplorer.com and you can see which source address(es) it came from.
