I think it is very unlikely that we will see a worldwide crypto currency issued by a central bank since that will require a government so powerful that it can impose his will above the will of the other countries and while the U.S is very powerful is not that powerful.
I think cryptocurrency will not be able to master the major currencies in the future, as long as the government has a fiat then it will be difficult for cryptocurrency to be the main currency in the future
Bitcoin enthusiasts don't want to make Bitcoin the major currency, they just want to make it accepted and regulated currency, in some countries people use USD more than the main currency of the country, and Bitcoin will occupy the same position if governments regulated it.

not really, bitcoin enthusiasts really wanted bitcoin to be the future digital currency which will be getting used around the world and become a common thing among people,no matter its region and races all will be allowed to use bitcoin as it should,it will be more better than only being accepted and regulated
I think they are just promoting bitcoin and this is the reason why they want bitcoin to be majority of currency they are just want to be accepted bitcoin locally.
And i think it will be happen in the future that bitcoin will be accepted too locally like in other countries like brazil they have 150+ stores are accepting bitcoin as payment according to other said..  and more adoption will come since making a lot of Bitcoin ATM and bitcoin banks can help to promote bitcoin and gain trust so that more people can be converted to use bitcoin..
