I doubt there is anything wrong with you.  Are you using the Linux code, or the Windows wallet?  Either way if this is your first time syncing the blockchain it does take a little bit to find peers.  If you have been waiting more than twenty minutes and still haven't gotten a peer you may be on the old dead wallet.  The code for the new wallet (linux) is here: https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin
