this seems like they're monitoring our browsing history, in exchange for bitcoins...I could very easily be mistaken but seems risky
Every advertiser is using the url of the webpage you visit as one criteria among others to select the "right" ad to display.
So yes, of course we use the the url of the current webpage, but :
- we don't monitor browser history
- we do not need to archive the url

You can extract the source code from the plugin if you want to check what is really done, nothing is obfuscated.

I was thinking the same thing. After checking out my Collusion plugin, I've been pretty wary on how websites/plugins track my internet history and preferences. So you're saying you don't archive site hits per IP using the plugin, nor are you tracking physical location of the user? Also you do not "sell" any anonymous information to other advertisers?

I think it would be a good idea to add a section on your webpage to address these questions.

We work same as adblock do. We just put a new iab banner just after it was removed by our plugin. We do not archive anything.
We are working for charity, so as you can see on our original website http://charityad.org , there is our identity information.
You don't have to worry about our intention.
We take part in the project bitcoin because we see great potential user can join our initial project.
We specially set up surf4bitcoin for the community bitcoin because of that.

But as you said, we will definitely add this information to the about page ^ ^
