From my experience someone has to be interested in BTC to put forward enough effort to understand it. So I would just bring it up and see just how interested she is in learning more.
She is interested not in learning more about bitcoin and its earning and how much it can spend money and to which it will store your bitcoin. If you do not know where to spend the money, then leave this problem to his girlfriend.
