While I think that creating a new coin and swapping our current coins for it would be optimal, I opted to vote for fixing the current wallet instead. Creating a new coin might seem easy because scammers and delusional wannabes release at least 5 new ones every other day, but a true successful coin requires more than just a shiny new logo. The current Hyper already has an acceptable branding and an adequate following, both of which can still be salvaged if we can get a functional wallet that consumes less resources than a triple-A MMO. If you think about it, we would still need a new wallet even if we created a replacement coin for Hyper. We might as well just fix the wallet first, then come back to the idea of making a new coin if the majority is still not satisfied after that. In the end, rather than fiddling around with coin specs, more widespread merchant support would be more beneficial. I highly doubt that any merchant likes waiting half an hour for a wallet to load.
It may be a bit more complicated than just a new wallet though, the slowness could be an issue with the code itself or a problem with the blockchain.
Another issue is funding, the HYPER dev disappeared with the dev fund and only a few people expressed interest in donating to help the coin progress. A new coin would allow the possibility of obtaining whats left of the dev fund using the coins that were not swapped which will allow more services to be created, more games, partnerships, etc. Basically picking up where the previous dev abandoned us.
