Im in a third world country and bitcoin helps me a lot, just have to know the secret on trading and stuff, electricity is expensive here so mining may not be advisable, but since bitcoin has been sloping upward, i was able to make money and planning to buy solar panels to help me with mining, so, yes, i think bitcoin can help poor countries

For help peoples maybe yes, but for all citizens is imposible. Bitcoin only enjoyed by some peoples or groups who understand it, if it is indeed useful, better also introducing bitcoin to other peoples. just have to be resourceful and if you have all the equipments you need Maybe they can create a little local comunity, this guy can talk about bitcoin to 5 people and this people talk to more people so in this way they can start to accept bitcoin and get some coins.
Bitcoin price is always increasing their price so they can earn a little bit more.
