ya no one seems to read my posts very much lol. i agree the auto tune feature isnt much of a feature. it runs boards too hard and i personally would want to control the speed. idc so much about raising it but i would at least like the aility to lower the speed but with the new firmware your unable to. my post was just to give some sort of solution to those that wanted to solve 1 of the 2 issues which is fan speed control. if it helps folks great if it doesnt great lol. at least this way they can try to get a handle on the high temps when running these auto tune miners.
I read your post, just didn't fully understand what you were getting at, It also seems like it may not be the best option, If we set them at one point and it at some point needs more, no way to get that.
A software solution that won't let them go lower then a certain speed, but still ramp up if needed would be ideal.
But I will look into those controllers.
Did they do a fine job of tricking the s9 into thinking it still had control?
As I understand it, the thing shuts down if it thinks the fans stopped running.
the 4th wire on the fan connector is the pwm wire. this is the wire the fan uses to control the fan speed. the adapter i sent allows you to control the fan speed of pwm fans. it cant handle high wattage loads thats why you would unhook the 4th wire (blue) from the fan connector and connect it to the 4th pin on thespeed controller i linked in my post. used a flathead screwdriver you can use the pot on the board to raise and lower the fan speed. i thought this was clear but wossry if this still isnt clear enough for you.
yes this method is not ideal and i even said a software method would be best but this is a solution. its to run the fans at a constant speed. you dont use this method to run them at the lowest posible speeds...this is to raise them up so the temps stay steady and dont run into the hundreds like the stock fan settings do. thats all this is good for.
