Satoshi is out of range.  He went back to his home planet, orders of magnitude more technologically advanced than our own.  But he felt he couldn't leave without first giving us the gift of blockchain, in an attempt to remedy our primitive, broken concept of money.  He is spending his BTCs, but we simply can't see it because the blockchains can't synchronise over the vast distances of space yet.
