Yes emotions will kill your trading plans. Usually traders do start their day with some predetermined plans and discipline regulations. But when they are facing market movements against their decisions, they lose their emotion control and start breaching their own trading-plans and disciplines.

Failing to control emotions will not help a trader to become professional. But emotion control will be possible only through experience, most probably professional traders are expert in emotion controls.
