If you are a league follower, know the stats, who is in form etc, this not a gambling!
Gambling is when you play roulette and anything can happen.

Betting sports is gambling, by definition,  gambling is play chance for money, and even the word itself Bet (betting on sport)  Gambling is not limited in Casino only, nor playing luck/chance game.  The same way they tag poker and blackjack as gambling games, so is sports betting because of the word "wager for a stake".

Strongly agreed with you as you said above gambling is not limited only to casino games there, sports betting is clear form of gambling as it also have great risks with it because there is nothing guaranteed with this kind of gambling too, as well as poker and blackjack is also part of gambling where we stake some amount on chance of winning so that I will do agree with you.
Yes every activity where you involve your money for making it double without any effort can be called as gambling, so If you are putting money on games to make it double is also gambling, but a little bit easy than other formats for gambling as you can use your mind in sports gambling.

Betting on sports is gambling but you can put effort into it and increase your odds. Games like roulette and dice require no skill or knowledge and you are completely at the mercy of the game. But in some games like poker, your skill and knowledge can increase your odds. Same for betting on sports. If you do research on the players, teams, and matchups, you can gain an advantage. It's still gambling, but not necessarily as high risk as roulette.
