Everybody knows Coinbase so I am guessing you excluded it on purpose? What was the reasoning for that?

My favorite is Gemini
https://gemini.com/

I'm also interested to know why Coinbase is excluded. I feel like it being excluded is a red flag to not use it, yet I've heard a lot of good (and bad) things about it all over the internet.

Coinbase is very good in some ways.  Perhaps the best thing about it is the zero maker fees.
And if you live in the U.S., it's very convenient; you can do ACH transfers between Coinbase and your bank account.  Banks don't charge for those transfers, and neither does Coinbase.
But there is a downside.  Coinbase is a big fat target.  As the biggest bitcoin business in the U.S., by far, the regulators have it under a microscope.  Coinbase bends over backwards to comply with law enforcement.  For example, there was at least one person who apparently had his Coinbase account closed because he sent some of his coins to a gambling site.  Coinbase tracks the coins that people buy from it.  So buyer beware!
Another alarming little event happened recently.  The IRS demanded that Coinbase turn over all its customer records for something like the last three years.  That's names, addresses, transaction histories, everything.
A judge granted permission for the IRS to issue such a summons.  Coinbase is fighting it in court.  Even if Coinbase succeeds in holding off the IRS, I take this as a sign of things to come.

By the way, the name of the Coinbase exchange is GDAX.  That is how you need to search for it if you want to find it on sites like this
