Switch to equihash is on December 6 (but 3 second blocks are friendly to solo mining)
So far it is only solo mining using the node software, which you have to compile yourself. Get from
https://github.com/steemit/steem. There might be some mining guides upthread or if not then definitely on the previous thread.
vow i didnt know that you could mine steemit ,till now i was wondering what a bullshit way to earn some coins is to keep on writing threads and making people view yours ,if you have a tutors regarding the solo mining it would be more than helpful for noobs like me .
Yes, you can mine to get a chance to be included as a witness. Unfortunately, this has been dominated by two people for months. I'm not sure a change in the algo is going to change this domination. We'll see.
