Hello, I am thinking of mining this coin. what sort of machine would be recommended?
Is it better to use a pool or my own rig?
I have never mined before, so am a total noob

You can mine with a CPU or GPU. Use one of the pools on the first page of this thread.
How do you mine the cryptonight-light algo with a GPU? I thought it was only mineable on CPU's. Just asking because I don't know of any GPU mining software that supports cryptonight-light. Any information would be helpful. Also is there any talk of a web wallet? I love mining AEON but keeping the whole blockchain on my PC is not an option.
you can mine with amd or nvidia gpu.
amd case: actual miner is a mod of wolf's xmr miner. (

https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/tree/improvements_from_xmr (higher hashrate). win64 binaries are available in releases tab. working good on former amd gpu (tahiti,etc...) but randomness result on ellesmere gpu (rx470/480)
nvidia case: there is a ccminer version,
