I have mine slightly OC'd with static fans and if I went with the firmware upgrade I would lose the ability to do either of those things.
Scroll back a bit and I posted the link for the frequency page (will not solve your micromanaging issues for the fans, but you can set freq how ever high/low you want). I did see that actually but does it work? I experimented with modifying the bmminer.conf file to try and get static fan speeds and in the newer firmware that file seems to be ignored for fan speeds, so if that web page is making modifications to the bmminer.conf file for freq control that may get ignored also.
