I personally think this have to do with the dev, James Stroud. From research/assistant professor to crypto he's tend to run away from his projects. I guessed we have to wait and see what he's coming up next. I don't believe any one is against him, just hope he could stick to his assignment, project or commitment, it don't seem to happen with him.

Run away? He's still developing both projects. He even said in the xst slack that the multi currency test net/cards were also going to be a testing ground for xst eventualy.
