I was surprised to read that people expected the price to go up with RingCT because I think that most traders are pretty ignorant of the superior technology of Monero and those that understand, believe in and love Monero already have all the Monero they can afford so I thought a price increase would be unlikely today.
In any case, Monero is in an amazing place now, the plane has managed to take off (this was the hardest thing) and will most likely only go higher now, and it's good that it's not going up too fast.

Agreed. However articles about RingCT and accomplishing a hard fork should gain some trust in the ongoing development behind Monero with some new people joining in the fun.
Jaxx wallet accepting Monero in a week or two + successful fork should be positive and have a spike when Jaxx accepts XMR.
It will definitely benefit long term but it seems Monero community will have to deal with explaining why the transaction size increased, how the dynamic blocksize will adapt to it, how it is normal and that there will be solutions to it:
