its my understanding the problem is being a new algo/coin, Stratum has to be implemented by someone.  Pools that listed ZEC, implemented the stratum themselves and its not easy i hear :/ so no rentals on none-stratum ZEC pools   I was hoping to do the same thing to help bust us blocks, but ya, can't currently
