Just my personal speculation.In my opinion Shimomura was probably has some important part in developing the bitcoin technology. Since it is very possible that the name Satoshi Nakamoto is actually a group of developers and not a single individual. But if he is part of the team he should make some innovations to solve the current issues on bitcoin so it could be useful to local shops when the confirmation will become more faster.
That's true, Satoshi Nakamoto can be a group of members but in my view Satoshi is a individual who just made the initiation of the technology.
