I have an S7 I've been running for quite awhile now and the fan has started making this god awful whistling sound I can hear through out my house, it's located in my basement and my bedroom is on the second floor and I can hear it as though it's in the room beside me.
Long story short I needed a new fan so I bought a 140mm Noctua Industrial 3000rpm fan as it has very similar air flow readings to what I've found the stock fan to output.
I used a 140-120mm adapter to hook it up, plugged the fan it, works fine for exactly 1 minute and then it starts beeping and stops hashing, I tried lowering the frequency all the way down to 100 and it still beeps at me and won't stop, I hooked up the old fan in the second fan pin header (I should add this is an S7-F1 with only 1 fan) and after rebooting it, works totally fine, temps read about 70 degrees which is only 2 degrees higher than the stock fan and everything is totally fine, but, that stupid seizing loud fan is hooked up again making tons of noise.
Does anyone know a way around this? How do I run an S7 without the factory fan? It's running just fine with the 3000rpm 140mm Noctua, I don't need this other one hooked up but it won't run without it.
EDIT:
Similar question, I have three 1000w HP server PSU's and I picked up 6 40mm noctua fans for those, I took one apart and depinned the proprietary connector to wire in the Noctua fans, and when I plugged it in to test, the fans don't spin up, I'm assuming it's a similar situation where it will not work with aftermarket fans.
Any suggestions on this?
