You're going to get a variety of answers. Some are based on the fundamental purpose of government. Others will be based on their specific government's policies today. But those are two different things.
For the former, most of the opinions should be favorable.
Government's fundamental purpose is to provide safety from foreign invaders, provide common infrastructure (roads, sewers, water, electricity) - some may add schools and health care to this list.
Government policies drift quite a bit to extend beyond this core services...and when that happens you'll get a variety of opinion on the usefulness of the government.
