Thanks everyone. Just hoping I don't have multi-drug resistant (MDR) strain. I should be feeling much better within about 2 weeks, assuming I can tolerate the slightly toxic medicines.

It is a 6 month treatment with a 2 month 4 drug intensive phase, assuming I don't have MDR.

It is ridiculous that I could go so long without knowing I had TB. I didn't realize it could cause such problems and disseminated throughout the body without a cough.

My vision seems to already have improved with only 2 days of treatment.

Word of advice, do not go to the third world. They have a serious public health dilemma with TB.

Good luck on your treatment.  Smiley

Recent immigration patterns have made TB a growing threat in the US, whether you travel or not.
Many Migrant workers from Mexico that come to the US to work have TB,
local health agencies are unable to meet the demands required to treat this massive influx.

Most TB patients in the U.S. were born in Mexico, the Philippines, India, Vietnam and China.
In Connecticut, the three countries of origin with five or more cases in 2015 were India, the Philippines and Ecuador, the health department said.

Dr. Michael Parry, an infectious disease specialist with Stamford Hospital, said many of the eight to 10 patients a year the hospital sees come from Central America and the Caribbean, as well as India.
The patients are "infected during childhood, they immigrate here, and during adulthood, the TB reactivates," he said. "It has smoldered and then escapes [the] immune system's control."
