newby here!

a few days ago a've heard about bitcoin, and now i wold like to do some mining.

but as any other newby, i wold be very glad to receive some docs and infos.
i've alredy downloaded guiminer, but i'm unable to start mining. it gives me this error in the console :

I'm new to mining, old to computers, and i've got this same problem. just realized it was a problem, too. cant seem to find any info on this kinda thing, so now it's time to be more proactive looking for a solution.
