Look at how quickly all the prices shot up.
so by the logic you're using the bitcoin difficulty is reacting to the market....well actually thats right imho
more and more people are getting aware of bitcoins, start mining, soon we will hear stories like " i made a fortune with bitcoins..." (or already herd them like in that infamous youtube-vid)
and more people start mining....
so diffculty and market price are like evil twins
