There is no planned announcement on the 9th guys. It's just wild speculation. All that is happening on Feb. 9th is some of the Iconomi team will be at a Blockchain conference. Don't expect anything.
They'll be there with a presentation. The way they phrased it makes me think at most it'll be an announcement of the launch date. Of course I could be wrong and they could ninja launch at any point, but that'd be pretty shady I think.
Attending a conference is different from presenting there. I don't have a feeling there will be any surprise announcement, I think the team don't want to commit themselves to any date until the platform is ready for use.
