for example many sites have 10-20% total wagered of an affiliate of 1% casinos edge so it amounts to 1/1000 or higher of his total wagered

50% on referral earnings is decent enough and its only a few does offer this kind of affiliate earnings.Since you are just starting better to focus first on marketing your site so that public would be aware on your gambling site and after that,then thats the time you will announce some promotion or giveaways.
