Earlier this year, Apple remained in a standoff with the FBI over allowing law enforcement agencies access to a locked device owned by a mass shooter in California, a move highly criticized by Sessions. Trump himself also opposed Apples stand while on the campaign trail, insisting that the company be boycotted.

I think that encryption is a usefull tool and should be promoted by the state. Putting anti encryption people into the cabinet is very anti-freedom. Trump should really think twice about infringing on basic rights such as freedom.
