Confiscate all of his wealth is a great idea however the one take took the effect is not only him, but also his family, and prison means nothing for the corruptor, i think the best way is exile them or maybe a dead sentence
Exiling them to other country would just excite them and probably make them free of any charges the state might file, or if the state did, probably they would escape since they are already outside the country. Putting them in prison, removing all their rights, including their right to communicate with people outside the prison, and isolate them from other prisoners with just water and food is enough. So others may learn how hard it is to be in prison because of corruption.
That's cruel I think.
