They both have a Trusted Setup. Having to trust people in crypto makes no sense.

I don't see why. Yes it had a trusted setup. The trust was required during setup and destruction of the source parts. Now the launch was done and was seen to be trustworthy no further trust is required. Now, because of that people can benefit from anonymity of transactions. What's the problem?

The problem is that you're having to trust people when they said they executed the Trusted Setup honestly. How do we know they did? Because they told us?  Human history says that we shouldn't trust that kind of answer or system.

Fortunately there is another coin where no trusted setup is required, is fully open source, is decentralized, private, fungible, and secure. The only thing needed to be trusted is math -- not people -- since the source code is open source.
