We as users of the bitcoin surely hopes to replace dollar, but we also have to be realistic because the dollar is the strongest currency in the world that it took a long time to be able to replace the dollar. If President Trump confirms bitcoin, will certainly accelerate the process.

Government at max can contribute to Bitcoin's success by implementing it in government operations. Otherwise, since no objection is raised by Government till now about Bitcoin can assure that it is confirmed and in its free-rein!
I don't think Bitcoin is depends on any govt. no matter if it is govt of America which is the strongest country of the world. bitcoin is strong enough and can take it's place by itself, I am not saying it will replace dollar but it have some potential. none of you disagree this.
