Can i take the money?

Transfer the 40 bitcoins to another wallet/address(if you really have the private key). if you don't someone else might find it out and do it lol. do whatever you like donate/keep/sell.i have found a wallet with 40 BTC.

I was in the forum where you were, and I also found a private key that contains 150BTC, last transaction dated 2010, I wanted to post here but as you just done it, I will just see the reaction Of poeple before reacting.i have found a wallet with 40 BTC.

Check the wallet address(es) and see if you can find something in the internet, if anyone has posted it and try to contact the owner.
Also check if someone has posted if he has lost the wallet or the private key of the address that this wallet has, I'm sure he will reward you.
If I were you I would give back to the owner (if he can prove it), just imagine if you lost 40BTC, what a bad feeling.
