Of course anything can change if you have consensus, but that becomes harder and harder to do over time with a successful currency.  The unobtanium coin project has 1 coin.  The 42coin project has 42

Great post !

That is one of the best commentaries you have ever made.

"anything can change if you have consensus" and I would only add that markets then put a price tag on that 'consensus'. That's the beauty of diversity - you can do what the h* you want and markets will price it all in because markets always have options.

Wow, thank you (blush)  A problem I have is that people think of buying a "coin" and what a "coin is worth" without thinking about how many coins are produced.  It gets silly.  But for a long time, we've seen projects with hundreds of millions of coins, or more, reach undeserved market caps simply because they got people to buy the coin for 10 cents or something.  People need to think "how much is this project worth?  What are the best projects in the space. Then they need to divide that by the number of coins available, which equate to shares in the project.

Dash, which has everything Bitcoin has, only far far more is way undervalued.  Dash has a great two tiered system, is self governed, self funded, private and has instant transactions. Then, when you add in simple user interface that is familiar to the world, you should value Dash far more than Bitcoin. Even so, IMO, we should be #2/#3 next to Ethereum.  In fact, I think we're a better, more well rounded and solid project than Ethereum with many of Ethereum's abilities.

If you take Ethereum's market cap and divide it by # of Dash, you come up with $165 / coin.  So I honestly think Dash should be somewhere around that point now.  Once Evolution is launched, we should be far exceeding Bitcoin.  But I know you don't agree Tok, I just still don't think "first mover advantage" will help Bitcoin.  But I do understand you're saying that as a monetary medium, it's different from other forms of businesses.  Still, I think most any person who has an understanding of these projects would agree that Dash should be valued at least as much as Ethereum Smiley
