Well if you have much money you can buy bitcoin because bitcoin has large of marketcap, but if you have small money you can buy ETH and hold because ETH has good innovations.
you know that you don't have to buy a whole unit of these coins right? in other words you are not forced to buy 1 whole bitcoin you can buy 0.01
BTC which is worth about $11 and i don't think there is anyone that finds that much big for investment but you can actually buy that much bitcoin.
the same goes for all other cryptocurrencies.
