Let me tell you this ,it is not illegal to manipulate the price of any crypto currency as it is not monitored or run by any central authority and that is the best part when it comes to speculation and trading as you can make the most when you could manipulate the market and get away with it And this is illegal, better stay clean
.If you have a big amount of bitcoins in storage then you will have the capacity to influence or manipulate the price of bitcoin in the market. As long as you dont hold a fake volume like the Chinese Exchanger does then there is nothing wrong. But a good trader in his proper mind will not allow bitcoin to decrease in value again and making his remaining coins in lesser value. If I were to hold a huge amount of coins I will sell them not in one go so I will not affect the price of bitcoin and will enjoy higher profit from the huge price.
