I don't agree however It's a pity that Gridcoin that you have mentioned here doesn't get the attention deserved, It's the only coin where mining isn't a waste of computational power and energy.
When i tried it in 2013 it was a SCRYPT coin.
So yeah you did do work for Boinc / SETI etc etc
