They have gone on for 13 years how can anyone take this as a serious business? They are making 4.2 billion coins. It should not take that long. Tor didn't take long to make a anon internet. All you have to do is try out the alpha its not user friendly imo at all.
"They" won't make any coins, that's not how the system works. Coding in Rust started in 2015 (even though the company is 11 years old and did a lot of R&D) and brought us 11 testnets with working code in 2016. TOR hops you from 1 proxy to the other to bring you a website on the current www-internet. SAFE won't connect you to the current www. It has it's own websites and own DNS. It won't have centralized servers as well. Alpha 1 currently works with a "Launcher" and "Demo_app". Next iterations will use just 1 browser. That will be way more user friendly. But feel free not to like the project, no one can force you. I rather have a well tested working system instead of a buggy one. Soon 170 students from Glasgow university will start to code for SAFE as an assignment. SAFE will show its capabilities when we have more apps and "mutable data" implemented (it actually is implemented, still work on the API though). From that moment on we'll have coins and wallets etc.
