Identity is a cryptonote and digitalnote based coin. Cryptonote was chosen for its private, anonymous, transactions. Digitalnote was chosen for its updated features to the cryptonote code.
First we will release the core part of the project, which is the currency.

Bitcoins focus was on having control of your own money. Identity will focus on not only securing control of your money, but also securing control of your identity.

Fair distribution
Our Philosophy
- Allowing miners to get a head start is viewed as the fair way to launch.
- We however feel that is not accurate.
- Creating an ICO is a way to provide those with spare btc to obtain coins pre-launch.
- Again this is limited to those who have time, and money to participate. It also allows devs to premine a large sum, and sell them prior to exchange listing.
- Premining is a sort of taboo because of the fear that the devs will sell all of their shares. The interesting thing is, ICO is allowing them to sell their shares from the start.
- Which seems more of a worry? Premining for use of developement, and managing the chain? Or Premining and doing what people fear, selling right away?
- This is why we want to offer the Fair Distribution.
- Instead of allowing miners to be the only ones to get a head start, or ICO buyers to get a head start, while the devs profit before they launch, we want to distribute a portion of overall coins for free.
- Rather than launching a coin with 50 million coins already mined and bought via ICO, or a full premine. We started with less than 2% total coins, 1.9459754024597538% to be exact. Thats 1513536.409 coins or credits.
- This allows the miners to have most of the chain intact, which is also why we mined the Fair Distribution coins with our reward 7.777 rather than an instamine where the first few blocks offer a larger reward. We wanted every block to be mined the way the chain was intended, 7.777 per block.
It just adds a level of sanctity.
How to obtain Identity credits/coins
- Mining: Of course mining is a huge part of most blockchains, source code is posted at the bottom with recommended set up
- The wallet will feature a user interface way of mining. Once pools are open, it will be easy for users to mine for themselves.
- FICO our Fair Initial Coin Offering: Where When and How will be posted on our forum, a link will be provided here
- Rewards: We see how bitcoin users take it upon themselves to createwallets, faucets, dicegames,apps, etc We want to offer an incentive to those types of users, so not only are they contributing to the community, but they will be rewarded for it too.
- Deposits: Depositing coins in your wallet, will lock them for a specific amount of time, upon release you will receive interest along with your funds

Recommended set up

From Terminal use: (--> symbol is to show you need to type a command DONT INCLUDE IT) (Same with () those are there to help, dont include them as well as its contents in the command)
--> sudo apt install cmake
--> sudo apt install g++
--> sudo apt install libboost1.55-all-dev
--> sudo apt-get install git
--> git clone https://github.com/IdentityProject/Identity.git cryptonote
--> cd cryptonote
--> make
(wait for it to compile)
--> cd build/release/src
To run chain (make sure you are in the right directory E.G. cryptonote/build/release/src)
--> ./identityd
~Congrats you are now running the chain!
~ If you want to mine from here use:
--> start_mining (insert wallet address) (number of cpu)
--> stop_mining
If you need a wallet address look at section below. To create a wallet in second terminal use:
(make sure you are still running the chain)
--> ./simplewallet
It will give you the option to Make a new wallet or Open an existing one
Assuming you need a new one use:
--> g
--> (name your wallet)
--> (choose password)
