that's right. There's no shame in losing if you're playing right. Its part of the game and you should always be ready especially if it's gambling you're venturing at. As long as you're playing honestly and using your own money and you know what your priorities are, there's no shame in being a gambler

The only shameful thing in gambling is playing with the money that has been allocated to other house hold budget.  It is a shame to see people lost their money that is a budget for food.  Reminds me of some elder person who play poker with his neighbor and lost all the money for their family's food.  So the kids and that guy spend their night without eating anything because of this guy's irresponsible gambling.

It is really annoying to see this kind of people.  I feel pity for those kids that lost their meals because of a very irresponsible father.  That guy should be ashamed of himself and those people around him should ban him from joining their games.  But I doubt they will do that since they do not care about others just the profit they'll get from that game.
