I also lost a main board to ham fisted attempt to install the socket protector, I mangled the socket pins.
It's a hobby, right
LOL I think we all had our nights where NOTHING you attempt works (MB refusing to detect cards, drivers acting up...). I broke a few keyboards out of sheer frustration
