I have an ETH wallet (cold storage, only a private and public key written down on a paper), containing some ETH.
I have also bought some EDG coins yesterday, they are on another address. Can I send them (after the ICO) to my ETH address? So my ETH address will contain ETH coins AND EDG coins?

Yes no problem.

Where did you read that? I dont think they have set up the code to freeze for transfer to other address

I read it on Slack, they have "set" it in a smart contract.

Lets wait for OP to confirm this,do you have any urgency to send to other address?
