Segwit would open up many attacks on the Time Locking System , included in deadwit,
say a hacker finds a way to break the time lock early , they will be able to steal BTC like crazy and it could be months before anyone knows they were robbed.

I would like to see adaptive block size: make it once and for ever. Raise to 2MB now, and what, another HF in 2 years or less?

That version didn't gather much support if any. Bitcoin scales very inefficiently on the first layer, that's why it requires a secondary layer. https://github.com/bitpay/bitcoin/issues/42
