Ah, yes.  I missed that BIP101 comment and did not understand your reference to aliens at the time.  It did make me picture a first encounter w/ ET as a financial one. Now it makes sense  

It's so complicated.  I think the idea of a linear and gradual block growth with each block may better address concerns over fast movement with a stepped change.  Then again ... I don't really know much - except about bicycle transportation planning

Bitcoin is a $15 Billion ... industry.  Maybe it'd be a better idea to experiment some with the silver highway called Litecoin.  That seems like a nice proving ground. I hear they are voting on SegWit. That's only a $200 Million industry with ASICs and is trading at like $4.  I just transferred some BTC to LTC for my first time, ever.  Nervous time for all.
