Hardly would I recommend some other investment besides Bitcoin, but if you can afford to take bigger risks, you can play with some altcoins, not putting too much money into it, of course.

I agree that bitcoin is very safe and sound for any average investor in trading. The current price fluctuations in bitcoin make it a good source of income for the traders and hence its recommended before any other altcoin. Altcoin trading is there but its risky and not recommended. If you know some altcoin is not going to turn scam you are free to invest in it, but there have been many cases of altcoins being pump and dump schemes and pure MLM schemes. So we must be careful about investing in altcoin trading.

Altcoin trading is risky if you invest in some newly arrived coin hoping that its price will pump in quick time but the fact is we can invest in some reputed coins like etc, eth, xmr as they have potential to give us good profits in long term.

Altcoin trading is not risky because it is just risky for those people or traders who didn't know what their doing and didn't know how the altcoin trading works. In altcoin trading it is normal to see an altcoin with a fast pump and fast dump scheme because it is normal in the market and that is why altcoin trading is very attractive because you can easily generate profit from it but i don't think that it is good for altcoin to be invested in terms of long term even though in etc,eth,xmr or other atlcoins because they can easily get manipulated and it has a high risk for you to lose money in terms of long term so in my opinion, short term trading is the best for altcoin and for long term it is good to invest in bitcoin.
