i say the minimum would be about a $5 server is enough. i use a digital ocean cloud server myself, it's easy to setup. i'd recomment a $20 server, so you may even set up other masternodes on there and play around with it. please use my ref link if you gonna try?

on vultr you can run 5 nodes on the 5$/month vps, however some linux skill are required
